The Zambezi River Authority (ZRA) donated 20 laptops valued at US$13,500 to Mahombekombe Secondary School in Kariba, Zimbabwe, and Kariba Secondary School in Siavonga, Zambia, on 10 September 2026. Each school received 10 laptops to strengthen ICT skills and support digital learning.
The donation will benefit 1,450 learners, including 500 learners at Mahombekombe Secondary School and 950 at Kariba Secondary School. The initiative was implemented through the ongoing Kariba Dam Rehabilitation Project (KDRP) in partnership with Morris and Stubbs Joint Venture.
The schools were selected following an assessment of their ICT facilities, electricity supply, security, accountability and governance systems to ensure they were prepared to effectively manage and utilise the equipment.
The initiative forms part of ZRA’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme and aims to improve access to digital learning, bridge the digital divide and equip learners with ICT skills for further education, employment, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The donation reflects ZRA’s commitment to sustainable community development and supporting communities in the regions where it operates.
