The Zambezi River Authority (“the Authority”) has set aside funds to finance various operational activities during the 2026 financial year. The Authority intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments under the works contract for the Construction of Mini-Hospital at Matuwa in Siavonga District Under the Zambezi Valley Development Fund.
The Authority is a corporate body jointly and equally owned by the Governments of the Republics of Zambia and Zimbabwe (Contracting States) and is mandated with the management of the Kariba Complex and the stretch of the Zambezi River (from Kazungula to Luangwa in Zambia and Kazungula to Kanyemba in Zimbabwe) forming a common border between the two Contracting States.
The Authority now invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders registered in Zambia for the construction of Mini-Hospital at Matuwa in Siavonga District under the Zambezi Valley Development Fund.
The scope of work will include:
Supply of materials, build, finish, and commission a Mini-Hospital at Matuwa in Simamba Ward which lies 6 kilometres west of Kariba Store (along the Siavonga Chirundu Turnoff Highway) and 20 km from Siavonga Civic Centre under Siavonga District.
This tender is open to Zambia local contractors registered with the National Council for Construction (NCC) Category B - either Grade 3 or Grade 4. Due diligence on at least one (1) most recent project completed during the past three years shall be undertaken prior to award of contract.
Bidding will be conducted using National Competitive Bidding in accordance with the Authority’s Procurement Policy and Procedures. Site Visit and Pre-bid meeting will be held on 4th September 2026, 12:00 hours.
Directions: Mini-Hospital at Matuwa in Siavonga District. Bidders will meet at the Kariba Store which is 40Km from Siavonga-Chirundu Junction at 09:00 hours and departure to Site will be at 09:30 hours.
Bidders will meet at Mini-Hospital at Matuwa at 10:00 hours. Pre-bid meeting will be held at the site to clarify any issues arising from the site visit and the bid document. The contact Cell Number for the site visit is 096 315 3028.
Questions and clarifications regarding this tender must be submitted to the Authority in accordance with provisions stated in the tender document.
Bids must be deposited in the TENDER BOX that is accessible on the in Registry Office, 5th Floor, Zambezi River Authority, Kariba House, 32 Cha Cha Cha Road, Lusaka on or before 22nd September 2026 at 16:00 hours CAT, in a sealed envelope clearly marked “TENDER FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A MINI-HOSPITAL AT MATUWA IN SIAVONGA DISTRICTUNDER THE ZAMBEZI VALLEY DEVELOPMENT FUND”and accompanied by a bid securing declaration. Electronic offers/bids shall not be accepted.
Bids will be opened on 22nd September 2026, 16:00hrs hours CAT in the 5th Floor, Registry Office, Kariba House. This will be done in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend.
LATE BIDS SHALL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
