ICT Technician -Networks, Cloud Services & Security

JOB PURPOSE 

The incumbent will be responsible for the designing and implementation of network security  solutions in the organization including network security testing and implementation of new  products or improvements to existing products. 

Under the supervision of the Manager – ICT, the ICT Technician -Networks, Cloud  Services & Security will carry out the following key responsibilities: 

  1. Project configuration, implementing and maintaining all security platforms and any  other related software, such as anti-virus, routers, Anti-SPAM, switches, intrusion  detection or intrusion prevention, firewalls, cryptography systems, Security Information  an Event Management (SIEM) and MDM. 
  2. Ensuring that network security best practices are executed through auditing: router,  change control, switch, firewall configurations and monitoring. 
  3. Management of the ICT Security system. 
  4. Management of ICT Virtual Environment.
  5. Management of the Authority’s On Premise and Off Premise Cloud Systems.
  6. Management of Microsoft Active Directory. 
  7. Planning and appraising ongoing assessments of antivirus, application control, firewall,  SIEM, VPN, SSL, intrusion detection or intrusion prevention and other network  component policies. 
  8. Setting Up and Maintaining On Premise and Cloud deployments. 
  9. Monitoring web performance, network availability and security. 
  10. Working under strict change control processes to ensure only authorized changes are  made to devices. 
  11. Installing, testing and monitoring servers, firewalls, and new software and setting up  equipment for new users and assisting with Servers, LAN/WAN technologies,  computer repair/troubleshooting software, networks, virus protection, Wi-Fi technology  and the like. 
  12. Maintaining system configuration and understanding technical know-how in server  administration, including GPO deployment, patching and network device configuration and hardware management (including cable management). 
  13. Working in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders to ensure customers have  devices that are fully operational and secure. 
  14. Working with other Authority employees to form and fix appropriate policy and  signature rules. This includes tuning and development of the creation of custom  intrusion detection and SIEM signatures and rules, including the efficient on-boarding  and understanding of varying customer log sources into SIEM environments. 
  15. Ensuring periodic vulnerability testing and lead remediation projects. 
  16. Articulating systems and methodologies as well as replying to security-related events  and support in remediation efforts. 
  17. Coordinating and overseeing log analysis for Authority managed services and ensuring  customer policy and security requirements are met. 
  18. Maintaining network security devices to enable pro-active defense of networks within  a managed service SOC environment and providing protective monitoring to the  Authority’s ICT environment.  
  19. Maintaining security devices and showing practical experience in managing SIEM  environments, firewalls, content filters, NIDS (Network Intrusion Detection System), proxy servers, HIPS (Host Intrusion Prevention System), and packet capture devices.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE  

General Education: 

  • Five (5) ‘O’ Levels with Credits/ “Cs” or better; in English, Mathematics and any Science  subject; 

Academic / Professional Qualifications:  

  • Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.  

Experience 

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience. 

Certifications 

  • At least three of the following or equivalent Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CCNA  Security, Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Information Systems  Manager (CISSP), Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer  (MCSE).

Employment Type in respect of the above positions: Fixed Term Employment  Contract for a period of three (3) years
